Senior Data Engineer

Overview

We are growing our Advanced Analytics team and looking to add a Sr. Data Engineer. The Sr. Data Engineer takes primary responsibility for extraction, transformation, and presentation of a wide array of source data in support of strategy consulting projects. This position reports to the VP Advanced Analytics.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop a portfolio of information products to expedite data extraction and restructuring of both proprietary as well as public data sources
  • Support project teams by enabling them with clean and suitably formatted data assets
  • Build a repository of public data, that have been restructured and cleansed to meet project teamsí needs
  • Maintain ownership of cloud computing budgets, and right-size ad hoc cloud environments in support of project work, and departmental data assets
  • Own and maintain analytical tools (data pipelines) to merge public, procured, and proprietary data assets
  • Train and support project teams in state-of-the-art analytical methods

Qualifications

  • Masterís degree or equivalent, preferably in Computer Science or Analytics related field
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience
  • Preferably located in the Boston area, but applications for San Francisco or partially remote will be considered
  • Specific Skills/Qualifications:
    • Experience with setting up and right-sizing ad hoc cloud computing environments
    • Strong service orientation and interest in working with and enriching Real World Data
    • Experience with model-driven code generation required
    • Expert knowledge of the SQL Server BI stack, and Azure cloud infrastructure
    • Expertise in multi-cloud infrastructure
    • High level of professionalism and awareness of the need for confidentiality
    • Exceptional attention to detail, logical thinking, and organizational skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Genuine desire to learn about life sciences consulting
