Vice President (Diagnostics)


Health Advances is seeking an established diagnostics executive or consultant to join its Diagnostics and Life Science Tools practice as a Vice President. 

  • Contribute to the Diagnostics and Life Science Tools Practice business development strategy and implementation 
  • Scope and sell projects to senior executives at diagnostics companies 
  • Oversee the successful delivery of projects in Health Advances core areas (e.g., corporate strategy, portfolio and test menu prioritization, go-to-market planning, competitive intelligence, forecasting, partner screening and M&A screening, commercial diligence, pricing and reimbursement strategy) 
  • Foster expansion of the Health Advances Diagnostics brand through periodic industry presentation and/or thought leading publication development 
  • Mentor junior team members and help them grow professionally 
  • Participate in periodic senior leadership meetings 


  • Strategy consulting experience for at least 4 years, preferably with business development responsibilities 
  • Track record of industry and/or consulting experience in the diagnostics industry through the clinical laboratory, laboratory products and/or point of care testing perspectives 
  • Deep understanding of the in vitro diagnostics industry 
  • Exposure to the life science research tools industry a plus but not a requirement 
  • Excellent strategic thinking capabilities 
  • Leadership/managerial experience 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Located in or willing to relocate to Boston or San Francisco 
  • Undergraduate, masters, or PhD-level training in the life sciences, ideally immunology, cell biology, cancer biology, neuroscience, infectious disease/microbiology, molecular biology 
  • International experience and language skills are not necessary, but valued

  • Demonstrated exceptional quantitative skills 
  • Demonstrated advanced ability to synthesize data and integrate the information into the larger project framework 
  • Must have advanced experience in Microsoft Office systems; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint 

Health Advances will consider H1-B sponsorship for candidates who have PhDs in the life sciences and are eligible for a minimum of 24 months of an OPT (Optional Practical Training) from their start date.
